  • The A-1 is the original American flight jacket, famously worn by aviation pioneers Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart. Inspired by jackets originally issued to U.S. Army Air Corps pilots, Schott's updates the design with a knit baseball collar and oversized dual-entry hand-warmer pockets. Crafted from hand-waxed, vegetable-tanned lambskin leather, the jacket has a smooth, polished surface with a soft, yet hard-wearing hand feel. Finished with black hardware, a chambray cotton liner, and fine knit trim throughout. Drawing on more than a century of leather working expertise, Schott crafts the jacket from start to finish in the USA.
