• Translated to “fawn” or "baby deer" Samurai's Kanoko selvedge denim references the brown spotted furs found on Japan's native deer species. Realized through a colorfast brown-white selvedge denim, the fabric features short-staple slub yarns creating a variegated surface texture reminiscent of spotted deer coats. The inspiration for this fabric comes from a period during the early 19th century where logwood was adopted as a dye alternative due to indigo shortages. Presented in a modified Type-II design, Samurai's 552 jacket features large patch pockets at the chest and welted hand warmer pockets at the waist.
