• Samurai’s Vintage Series pays homage to midcentury workwear, receiving inspiration from fabrics worn throughout the late 1940s and 1950s. This jacket comes woven on vintage Toyoda GL3 looms using a combination of Samurai's homegrown "cotton project" yarns at the weft and short staple Texas cotton yarns at the warp. The use of short staple cotton yarns in combination with a low-tension weave gives the fabric a variegated texture mimicking early postwar workwear. Presented in a modified Type-I design, Samurai's 554 jacket features a single front patch pocket, iron hardware, and comes pre-rinsed to remove shrinkage.
