  • Inspired by traditional Japanese "hikeshi banten" (firefighter uniforms), this kimono-style jacket from Japan Blue is crafted using the brand’s 11oz sashiko fabric—a richly textured textile woven atop a sturdy cotton base. The fabric is sulfur-dyed to resemble traditional black denim and is designed to fade with wear. Cut in a modern, relaxed silhouette, the jacket features an open placket, side seam pockets, and a slightly extended hem.

  • Japan Blue Jeans is part of the Japan Blue Group, a vertically integrated collective based in Kojima—Japan’s denim capital. The group includes renowned divisions like Collect Mills, Rampuya Dye House, and sibling label Momotaro. With full control over every stage of production, from fabric development to dyeing and sewing, Japan Blue Jeans is known for its experimental approach and modern reinterpretations of heritage workwear.
Founded in 2010, as part of the larger Japan Blue Group, Japan Blue Jeans has full control over the process behind their products from to fabric, to dying, to manufacturing, giving the brand an unparalleled amount of creative freedom. From inception Japan Blue has focused on creating the best basic five pocket jean. By eliminating extravagant design they hope that people will be able to enjoy the material they have created and the fading of jeans as a pleasure of daily life.
