• Studio D’Artisan’s “Sou-Ai” (Twin Indigo) denim blends two distinct indigo dyeing techniques to create a fabric rich in texture and tonal depth. The warp is kase-dyed using a mix of Tokushima Natural Indigo and Pure Indigo (featuring both redcast and greencast hues), while the weft is left a natural ecru to preserve contrast. The traditional kase-zome technique retains the yarn’s natural slub and irregularity, giving the denim a layered appearance and signature “rain” streak pattern associated with Tokushima dyeing. Woven at 16oz with a super low-tension weave, the denim is heavily textured and fades with high contrast over time thanks to the combination of natural and synthetic indigo yarns. Rinsed once to eliminate shrinkage, this limited-edition release features custom anniversary details exclusive to the collection.
