  • Originating in 19th-century Britain and Ireland, “Newsboy” or “Baker Boy” caps were commonly worn by working-class youths, particularly those delivering newspapers routes. While flat caps were the original standard, the fuller eight-panel newsboy style later became popular among railway and factory workers. The Real McCoy’s crafts its work cap using a Katazome resist dyed salt-and-pepper fabric. The cap is finished with a buttoned brim, eight-panel crown, and smooth satin interior lining.
