  • Pure Blue Japan’s “Waterfall Denim” mirrors torrential streams through a heavily textured slub selvedge fabric. Crafted on low-tension shuttle looms, the denim is woven with the visual depth of a heavyweight denim while retaining the comfort of mediumweight fabrics. Inspired by classic Type III jackets, PBJ updates the design with a streamlined fit and the addition of welted handwarmer pockets at the waist. Finished with custom hardware and signature Pure Blue Japan detailing throughout.

Using vintage shuttle looms and traditional dyeing techniques, the brand focuses on texture, depth, and authenticity. Its signature leaf logo—embroidered on each piece—references the indigofera plant used in natural indigo dye. With meticulous attention paid to every step of production, from dyeing and weaving to sewing and hardware, Pure Blue Japan has earned its place among the world’s premier artisan denim makers.
